NEW AIFEC 2015 Annual Report

IN OUR STUDENTS’ OWN WORDS Grade 2 AIFEC Piano Students, Dr. Davey School Why do you like coming to the AIFEC piano classes? (Samia) Because my mom loves piano and I like the noise of piano. When I was a baby I used to hear piano songs. It brings back memories. (Ser Moo Ra) I want to learn how to play piano, and I want to be great at something. (Leonart) I like piano, because I like the noise of the note "C". I like lessons, because you learn a lot of new stuff and you get to learn a lot of music. (Ayesha) Because I learn something new. I like to play piano. How does it make you feel? (Samia) Excellent! (Ayesha) Good! (Leonart) Nervous! (laugh) (Ser Moo Ra) Happy! (Hiep) I feel chosen and special, feeling bad for kids, who cannot play... (Shayan) Good! I am sad knowing that other kids do not know how to play piano, but Hiep and Ser Moo Ra are golden to me now. Because we are in the same group. When you leave the lesson, does anything change? (Samia) I am looking forward to every Thursday morning to have a lesson, because I miss the sound of piano. (Leonart) I think more about music (Ayesha) I feel different, because I learned something. Do you want to come back next year? YES!!! (all) What would you like to say to the people who help us pay for your lessons - we call them sponsors? (Leonart) Thank you! Really, really much!!! (Samia) Thank you really much! You are not wasting your money. We are learning music! You make us feel really good, excellent, special. (Hiep) This means a lot to me. Now I can teach other kids how to play piano! (Shayan) I like you!!! Thanks!!! Excerpts from an interview conducted by piano instructor Marianna Pijewska with Dr. Davey grade 2 students in a lesson leading up to the End-of-Year concert in June, 2015.
