Soundhaus Studios

Hamilton’s Hidden Gem recording Studio for emerging artists and pros
About
Established in 2024, Soundhaus Studios offers a unique recording experience at a variety of prices, with available access to a 130-capacity theatre for exceptional acoustics. Designed to cater to both solo artists and large ensembles, we provide an analog and digital hybrid recording environment in a professional yet inviting setting. With each session, you’re supporting the Hamilton Music Collective’s mission to make music education accessible to all children across Hamilton.
Rooms
- Control Room (376 sq. ft)
- Isolation Room (293 sq. ft)
- Theatre (1584 sq. ft)
Whether you’re recording your next album, producing demos, or putting the finishing touches on a single, Soundhaus Studios offers a tailored package to meet your needs. Our Control Room, designed with custom acoustic treatment by Terry Medwedyk of Group One Acoustic, is ideal for tracking vocals, guitars, or small ensembles, all while working closely with your dedicated engineer. Equipped with an M2 Mac Studio, Dynaudio three-way near/midfield monitors, and an 18S subwoofer, the space provides exceptional sound accuracy.
For larger ensembles, choirs, or a traditional live-band setup, the Isolation Room offers ample space to track together off the floor. Additionally, the Gasworks Theatre is available for live recordings, featuring a full-size Kimball grand piano and B3 organ, perfect for capturing rich, dynamic performances.

Engineer & Studio Manager
Sasha Szlafarski is a multi-disciplinary musician, producer, audio engineer, and composer based in Hamilton, Ontario. His work emphasizes both sonic and emotional honesty, blending complexity with understatement.
After studying Film Scoring at Berklee College of Music, Sasha built a career composing, engineering, and producing for film, television, and commercial music, under the mentorship of Toronto composer Donald Quan. His expertise also expanded to sound recording on film sets and post-production mixing.
Alongside commercial projects, Sasha produced music for close friends and colleagues who shared his passion for emotive music, unconventional orchestration, and layered storytelling. He also honed his engineering skills as a repair technician specializing in guitars, amplifiers, recording equipment, and pedals, while building his own gear.

BOOK A SESSION, SUPPORT MUSIC EDUCATION
Yes, our studio doubles as a classroom. No, your session won’t be competing with a beginner trombone class! Opening our professional recording space to the public allows us to continue our mission of providing free music education through the ‘An Instrument For Every Child’ program. Your support helps provide free weekly lessons to over 650 students a year, and keeps professional musicians employed as teachers.
Thank you to our sponsors and donors: The City of Hamilton, Ontario Trillium Foundation, Telus Friendly Future Foundation, and the Panavas family.
