Annual Report 2017

AR|2017 WELCOME In last year’s Annual Report I stated that heading into 2017, there was “a positive air of excitement and enthusiasm among all connected with HMC, as we work toward new and ambitious goals for our organization and its continued commitment to the community at large.” This enthusiasm was actualized, as noted in President/CEO Astrid Hepner’s welcome notes. On behalf of the Board of Directors of HMC, we wish to express sincere thanks to Astrid and her team! HMC has two main functions. We educate and provide live music. An Instrument for Every Child provides musical instruments and teaches the children of the community. As well, sold out live fundraising music performances, featuring top artists, are regularly held at the Gasworks. None of this happens without significant donated funding. To that end, we offer sincere thanks to the many established and new contributors who have stepped forward. Whether it be a significant corporate commitment or an individual giving what they can, it is all appreciated! There is much to look forward to through 2018. There is a great feeling of optimism within the organization as we move ahead with even more challenging and innovative initiatives, which will continue to shape the Hamilton Music Collective as a valuable and vital contributor to the overall betterment of the community of Hamilton and area. Sincerely, Robert J. (Bob) Miller Chair Robert J. Miller Chair An Instrument For Every Child (AIFEC) provides Hamilton’s inner-city children and youth with a high quality music education and allows them to explore their creative potential.
