DESCRIPTION:Call for all young aspiring musicians in Hamilton to be part of an internationally broadcast documentary on your City!  \nAcclaimed documentary series ‘The Life-Sized City’\, hosted by cycling infrastructure specialist Mikael Colville-Andersen (founder of Copenhagenize Design Co. https://copenhagenize.eu/team)\, will be filming the Hamilton Music Collective’s OPEN JAM FOR KIDS on August 24. \nThe ‘Life-Sized City’ is broadcast on TVO and Knowledge in Canada and on international broadcasting partners in France\, Germany\, Italy\, Belgium and Hong Kong. The show has been filmed in various cities worldwide since season 1\, from Tokyo to Medellin\, Paris to Cape Town. This third season covers Buenos Aires\, New Orleans\, Beirut\, Barcelona\, Hong Kong and… HAMILTON! The Hamilton Music Collective (HMC) has been chosen as one of the organizations to be portrayed in this episode. \nThe production focuses on grassroots organizations with inspiring visions and the mandate to make a city a better place to live. Empowering youth is an important topic of the series and the original and engaging programs offered by the Hamilton Music Collective intrigued the production team. \nOn August 24\, we will be hosting our popular Open Jam For Kids\, an open mic and jam session just for youth ages 16 and under\, at The Music Hall\, aka New Vision United Church. DESCRIPTION:The Instrument Petting Zoo will be at the Marz Homes Family Concert Experience. \nActivities start at 11am\nConcert begins at 2pm\n \nChildren\, family and friends experience a full-day of symphony-themed fun with the HPO. A morning of activities is followed by a one-hour full orchestra concert that lets the audience decide what instruments will play and what music to hear\, resulting in a unique world premiere. Featuring bottle-music\, hosaphones\, snake-charming oboes\, powerful trumpets and more\, this performance keeps children laughing and learning about the orchestra \nPurchase a family day-pass (two adults/seniors and two children) or single person day pass and take part in pre-concert musical activities including an instrument petting zoo. All day-passes include pre-concert musical activities and the one-hour concert at Mohawk College.  Activities are recommended for children aged four and up.
